In many ways, we’ve been living in an atheistic world. When God is pushed out of a culture, authoritative doctrines seep in. When the Lord is present there is a spirit of freedom for God never pushes himself or his commandments on any person. People can choose to come to God and choose to believe the bible is his word, or you can choose not to believe, but the important part that must be noted is that your journey with God is based on free will. 2 Corinthians 3: 17 “Now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

We’ve had an ample look at the degradation of a society when God is kicked out of schools, homes, and the human heart. We have people riddled with fear and anxiety. We have kids who are being told to hate themselves and if they don’t like how God made them, they can change their sex. This diabolic agenda is pushed on social media to children who are impressionable and often confused, lonely, disenfranchised, and struggling for any number of reasons. Instead of finding compassionate adults to help them navigate their complicated feelings, they are shoved down a path that is a money train for big pharma, doctors, and hospitals but is full of pitfalls for the child. We have a medical community that has turned to the dark side and finds no shame in unethically telling kids the unthinkable—that God put them into the wrong bodies. Instead of directing youth to learn to love themselves by doing esteemable actions: pursue hobbies, learn a new skill; help others—learn to contribute to society in a meaningful way and all of a sudden the focus on self is not the most important thing in that child’s life.

Principles of recovery from addiction, such as love and service, can be translated to other aspects of life to help children grow into the person God intended them to be.

We need to all stand-up and push back against things that just do not make sense. There has been a serious lack of critical thinking in our culture. We have seen the herd mentality cause many people to make decisions that they now regret. In 2 Timothy 1:7  we are reminded: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.” When we get back to biblical truths, our answers are there if we look. We don’t need to rely on our televisions or three-letter agencies to direct our lives. If we look to God, he will give us that intuitive knowledge to know what decisions to make without looking to the world and its fallible people for direction.
