There is no royal road to anything.
One thing at a time, all things in succession.
That which grows fast, withers as rapidly.
That which grows slowly, endures.
– Josiah Gilbert Holland

We’ve all heard that saying that patience is a virtue, but how many believe that? We live in a world where everything is instantaneous. If we need info, we hop on over to Google. If we want to know what people are doing or saying, we can get immediate updates on all sorts of social media sites.

What this false world has taught us is that whatever we want we can have—right now, when in fact, we can’t; anything worth having takes time, energy, work, and patience.

Most things in life have to develop, and everything does have its season. In due time, all fruit ripens.

The secret is to understand that patience is often obtained when God calls you one way and then hits the pause button. Sometimes that state of limbo is exactly where you’re meant to be so you can learn the true virtue of patience.

Learn to accept the pause so you can learn the lesson, grow your patience, and increase your trust that God does have a plan!
