“The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.”
― Robert Jordan
As life goes, the pendulum swings both ways. Nothing really good, and nothing really bad, lasts really long.
Things pass. People move on; nature teaches us that nothing stays the same: The ocean’s tides flow in and out;the moon waxes and wanes. Trees bloom, and then drop their leaves. Rivers spill their banks and new tributaries are born.
Change is constant. It’s how we deal with those changes that will determine our peace. Do we kick and scream? Do we fight to hold onto the status quo because we fear what might come next?
Why not accept the fact we must bend and change? Life is about being resilient when we need to be resilient, and helps if we can keep our hands and our hearts open to the possibilities?
Today I will not judge change. I will keep an open mind, and embrace the opportunities that come my way. I’ll roll with the waves, weather the storms, and enjoy the calm when it comes.
As long as we remain flexible, and understand that whatever is rigid will eventually break, but what bends with the storms remains standing!
